Boosting Social media for the FWNCR

The Fort Worth Nature Center and Reserve has so much to offer, and showcasing its beauty and wildlife through social media can help spread the word and engage visitors. Here are some ideas to enhance its online presence: YouTube Trail Videos: I watched the YouTube video of the Canyon Ridge Trail, and I thought it wasn’t too bad. The video did a great job highlighting the trail markers and signs, and I like the description of what the hiker was hearing, feeling- like the spiderwebs, and the temperature, it really set the scene. The transitions also kept the video engaging, making it feel less lengthy. We could definitely do more trail videos like this to give viewers a sneak peek of what to expect during their visit. Instagram Reels & YouTube Shorts: After our class feeding the prairie dogs and bison, I’m convinced that Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts would be a perfect way to share quick, engaging content. Privet, You’ve Met Your Match

  The past two weeks at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Reserve have been incredibly productive. We really went after that invasive privet—it didn’t stand a chance! Jokes aside, I truly feel like we accomplished a lot. I was a bit sore after the first week, but by the second time around, I got the hang of using the clippers and was able to work more efficiently. The weather was beautiful both days, and honestly, it was refreshing to step away from schoolwork, breathe in some fresh air, and get my hands dirty. I’ve also been enjoying the drive out to the center—windows down, music up, and a moment to just unwind.
